Window and Door Frame Restoration – Richmond Hill Exterior Repair Project

Restoration project

This exterior restoration project focused on repairing and rebuilding multiple rotted window and door frames on a residential property in Toronto. Years of exposure to moisture had caused severe wood deterioration around trim, sills, and structural joints.

Scope of Work:

  • Assessment & Removal:

All affected wood sections were inspected and removed, including rotted lower casings, side trims, and sill extensions.

  • Wood Replacement & Repair:

New wood elements were cut and fitted to match existing profiles using pressure-treated lumber and pine. Where possible, existing material was reinforced using high-quality wood filler.

  • Surface Preparation:

All surfaces were sanded, leveled, and cleaned. Deep gaps and seams were sealed with exterior-grade caulking to prevent future water intrusion.

  • Priming & Painting:

Every restored section was primed and painted with high-durability exterior paint, matched to the home’s aesthetic. This not only improved appearance but significantly increased weather resistance.

Results:

The project brought new life to aging window and door frames, extended their lifespan, and enhanced curb appeal — all with durable, professional craftsmanship.
